Planning your child’s care or preschool journey for 2027? Starting early can make the enrolment process feel much more manageable. From booking a tour to preparing documents, understanding the Child Care Subsidy and helping your child settle in, each step is an opportunity to build a positive beginning.
At Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre, we believe enrolment is the start of a long-term relationship with your family, not simply paperwork. As a small, family-owned childcare service, we take time to understand every child’s routines, interests, culture, abilities and individual needs.
Rainbow Hut Early Learning Centre has three locations, Liverpool, Blacktown and Prestons. This guide focuses on our Liverpool centre and is designed to help families looking for child care Liverpool and preschool Liverpool options for 2027.
Step 1: Think about your family’s care needs
Before contacting a centre, consider what your family needs from an early learning service.
You may wish to make a note of:
- Your preferred start date in 2027
- The days of the week you require care
- Whether you need full-day care
- Your child’s current age and room placement
- Your work, study or family commitments
- Any allergies, medical needs or dietary requirements
- Your child’s sleep, comfort and toileting routines
- Languages, cultural practices or celebrations that are important to your family
At Rainbow Hut Liverpool, we provide care and learning experiences for children from infancy through the early childhood years. Our Penguins room supports children aged 0–3 years, while the Koalas room supports children aged 3–5 years.
Families searching for preschool in Liverpool often want more than early care. They are also looking for a nourishing environment where children can develop confidence, independence, communication skills and a love of learning. Our programs combine fun and learning to support children’s development and their future transition to school.
Step 2: Book a tour of our Liverpool centre
A tour gives you the chance to see the environment, meet our team and ask practical questions before making a decision.
You can book a tour through our Liverpool page or contact our team on 0452 400 201. Our Liverpool centre is located at 401 Hume Highway, Liverpool NSW 2170, and is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
During your tour, we encourage you to ask about:
- Daily routines and room arrangements
- Educator qualifications and relationships with children
- Indoor and outdoor learning spaces
- Meals, rest times and toileting support
- Communication with families
- The settling-in and orientation process
- Health, safety and supervision practices
- School readiness experiences
- Technology use and digital learning
- Availability for your preferred days
- Fees, deposits and the Child Care Subsidy
Most importantly, notice how you and your child feel during the visit. Do educators warmly acknowledge your child? Are children engaged in meaningful play? Does the environment feel safe, respectful and welcoming?
Choosing child care in Liverpool is a personal decision. We want families to have the information and confidence they need to make the right choice for their children.

Step 3: Join the waitlist
If a place is not immediately available, the next step is to join the waitlist. We recommend doing this as early as possible, particularly if you have specific days or a preferred start date for 2027.
You can use the Rainbow Hut waitlist form and select Liverpool as your preferred centre. Please provide accurate contact details and include:
- Your child’s full name and date of birth
- Your preferred commencement date
- The days of care you are seeking
- Your contact phone number and email address
- Any relevant information about your child’s routines or support needs
Joining a waitlist does not necessarily guarantee a place. Availability can depend on room capacity, age groups, vacancies and the days requested. Our team will discuss your enquiry and contact you regarding the next steps.
If you are also considering our other locations, Rainbow Hut has centres in Liverpool, Blacktown and Prestons. You are welcome to ask our team about the options that may best suit your family.
Step 4: Complete the enrolment forms
Once a place is offered and accepted, we will guide you through the enrolment process. You will generally need to complete enrolment documentation before your child begins care.
Families may be asked to provide:
- Your child’s birth certificate or approved identity documentation
- Immunisation history information
- Parent or guardian contact details
- Emergency contacts
- Details of authorised nominees and people permitted to collect your child
- Medical information and allergy details
- Medication or medical management plans, where applicable
- Dietary requirements
- Information about your child’s routines, interests and preferences
- Court orders or relevant legal documentation, if applicable
Please speak with us as early as possible if your child has a life-threatening allergy, ongoing medical condition or additional support need. This allows us to work collaboratively with your family and prepare appropriate, safe and respectful arrangements.
The NSW Government explains that enrolment requirements can vary between services. You can read its current guidance on enrolling in an early childhood education and care service.
Step 5: Apply for the Child Care Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) may help reduce the amount your family pays for approved early childhood education and care.
CCS eligibility and the percentage available can depend on factors such as:
- Your family’s income
- Your recognised activity, such as work, study or training
- The type and amount of care used
- Your child’s age and circumstances
- Australian residence and immunisation requirements
You can claim the Child Care Subsidy through Services Australia using your myGov and Centrelink accounts. You may need your own Customer Reference Number (CRN) and your child’s CRN.
After Rainbow Hut submits the enrolment details, you will generally need to check and confirm the enrolment through your Centrelink online account. This step is important because it helps Services Australia apply the subsidy to your childcare fees.
Current government guidance also includes the 3 Day Guarantee, introduced from 5 January 2026. As rules and family circumstances can change, we recommend checking the latest information directly with Services Australia before your child starts in 2027.
Our team can help explain the centre’s process, but Services Australia makes the final assessment of your CCS entitlement.
Step 6: Attend orientation and plan a gentle start
Orientation helps your child become familiar with the educators, rooms, routines and new surroundings before their first full day.
At Rainbow Hut, we welcome families to share information that can make the transition more comfortable, including:
- Your child’s favourite activities and interests
- Words your child uses for family members or familiar routines
- Sleep and comfort patterns
- How your child communicates needs
- Any separation concerns
- Cultural, religious or family practices
- Strategies that help your child feel calm and secure

Your child may feel excited, uncertain or emotional during the first days. These responses are completely normal. We follow a children first policy, so our approach is responsive to each child rather than based on a one-size-fits-all timetable.
Together, we can discuss practical strategies such as:
- Keeping goodbyes warm, calm and consistent
- Bringing a familiar comfort item, where appropriate
- Talking positively about the new routine
- Arriving with enough time for a relaxed handover
- Sharing updates with educators about sleep, health or mood
- Allowing your child to build trust gradually
Our goal is to help your child develop secure relationships and a sense of belonging while supporting you as a parent.
Step 7: Begin your family partnership
Enrolment is not the end of the process: it is the beginning of an ongoing partnership.
Our educators communicate with families about children’s experiences, development and wellbeing. Depending on your child’s age and room, communication may include daily conversations, learning stories, photos, videos and developmental observations through our family communication systems.
You can learn more about family communication at Rainbow Hut, including our digital portfolio and daily updates.
We value your feedback and invite you to share your observations, questions and ideas. Your knowledge of your child helps us plan meaningful experiences that reflect their strengths, interests, culture and family life.
